What is a real estate investor? February 22, 2021 By sellnowhomes Sometimes I get asked, “what is as a real estate investor?” We’ve all heard of them. Let me just talk to you a little bit about what some real estate investors do.First, you’ve heard of house flippers. You see them on HGTV and all these great shows, Fixer Upper, where they take a house that’s kind of dated or it’s messed up, or it has some damage. They come in, they fix it up. They make it almost as good as new and they put it on the market and sell it again. That’s one thing a real estate investor might do.A second thing a real estate investor might do is become a landlord. So we buy a house, we fix it up a little bit, make it so that it’s great for a renter, for a family to move into. And then we rent it out for people who are looking for a place to stay, looking for a place where they can be safe and call home for a while. And so those are landlords. Some own apartments, some own houses. So that’s another way a real estate investor works. And then finally, some people are just lenders. We all know that banks lend money and banks will give you money to buy a house or to fix up your house even. But some real estate investors lend out their own money and thus, they become the bank. Some people own homes and they don’t owe any money anymore. And they decide they will be a lender and lend that money through the house in order for someone to own that house instead of them. So they don’t have to take care of it anymore. In other words, they become the bank.So those are just a few ways that real estate investors work and earn money to support their families and make housing better for the communities that they live and work in.If you have any questions, any way we can serve you as real estate investors, by taking some real estate off your hands that you’re not interested in keeping, then reach out.
